This week’s shows focused on the ongoing crisis in Crimea with Russia trying to take over the region and gain more control and also on the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) convention where conservatives talk about the presidency and the state of the country and who should be the person to lead the country during the next presidential election in 2016. After comments made on the show last week about how Fox News was covering welfare spending and the poor the channel responded with their thoughts on what Jon Stewart had said. In typical Daily Show fashion Jon Stewart responded by talking about what was wrong with how Fox was covering the topic over the last few years. Also this week, Pope Francis’s first year as Pope was discussed and what he has done to change how Christianity is viewed and why he has been a very different Pope. On Monday’s show author Paul Taylor talked about his book The Next America about the millennial generation. On Tuesday Judge Andrew Napolitano discussed comments he made on television about his contrarian views on President Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War which was very interesting and thought-provoking. Actor Jason Bateman was interviewed on Wednesday and on Thursday Anita Hill talked about a documentary based on her life titled Anita. Also on Thursday’s show there was a very funny segment on Mitch McConnell’s ad campaign set to different songs as the ad had no talking just music. This was coined #McConnelling and was a funny and light way to end the week.
